Hosted by NYCforChange in partnership with Organizing for America, Health Care for America NOW, and more than 75 grassroots and organizations representing local communities, Obama supporters, women, immigrants, health care worker unions, physicians, faiths, and many more!
Itinerary: The event will kick off with Unity Walks starting from locations throughout the city and converging in Times Square with a gathering of supporters for a call to action, series of speakers, music, and more.
11am – 1pm- Walks Start (VID to meet in front of Starbucks at 12:30pm, Union Square East);
1:30pm – Walk End in Times Square.
2pm to 3pm - United We Stand gathering of supporters at 42ND and 7TH Ave. (Rain or Shine)

Douglas Kellner, Commissioner of N.Y.S. Board of Elections will be joining the guest speakers at the General Membership meeting, July 9, 2009, at St. Marks Church as announced previously. Instead of the two scheduled speakers, Mark Crispin Miller and Andi Novick we will have a 3-person panel discussion on the pros and cons of keeping the old lever voting machines for New York City.

The July General Membership meeting will be held Thurs, July 9th, 7:30 p.m., at St. Marks Church on the Bowery, 10th Street and 2nd Ave., in the Main Sanctuary.
Speakers will be Mark Crispin Miller, Professor of Media Studies at N.Y.U. and Andi Novick, attorney who is the driving force behind the effort to allow New York to keep its lever voting machines. The topic is: “The threat to voting in New York – and what to do about it.”
