May Day Nationwide Protest - May 1, 2025
Thousands turned out this May Day, and VID was proud to be there. From the No More 24 workers’ rally at City Hall to the Rally for the Rule of Law at Foley Square to the massive May Day Rally and March to Battery Park, New Yorkers showed up in force to demand justice, rights, and accountability.
The real highlight was the power of so many people coming together and a surprise appearance by AOC added an extra jolt of inspiration!

Day of Action - April 19 Rally!
Over 750 protests took place nationwide on April 19 as part of the 50501 movement’s “Day of Action” against Trump’s authoritarian agenda. From immigration to environmental justice, hundreds of thousands (if not millions) joined in nationwide. In New York City, thousands, including many VID members, rallied at the NYPL and marched through Midtown, from 42nd Street to Madison, up to 59th Street, to Central Park.

Hands off Global Protest! April 5, 2025
Despite the rain, it is estimated that more than 100,000 people filled the streets of NYC for the Hands Off! march - and more around the world—an unforgettable day of energy, unity, purpose and joyful resistance. VID showed up in force alongside fellow New Yorkers, elected officials, Democratic clubs, unions, and grassroots activist partners, Markers for Democracy, Downtown Nasty Women, Team Min, The Wednesday Group and many more to defend democracy and demand accountability. Check out the photos of our members, the signs from NY and beyond, and the joy of the day!
There’s more work ahead because the stakes are higher than ever. But every action is a step in the right direction. To quote Sen. Booker, “Never let your inability to do everything undermine your determination to do something. Greatness lies in the doing, not the doubting.”
Special thanks to Rise & Resist for marshaling this massive march and for always working hard to keep us safe in the streets.
Congressman Dan Goldman
Assemblymember Deborah Glick (L)
Councilmember Erik Bottcher (L). Manhattan Borough President Mark Levine (R)
NYC Comptroller Brad Lander
THANK YOU RISE & RESIST FOR MARSHALLING AND KEEPING NEW YORK SAFE!
And from around the country...
