RAPID RESPONSE
NY Must Stand up to Trump and Authoritarianism: Tell Hochul: Reject the Trump Pipelines! The deadline has been extended!
Tell Gov Kathy Hochul to stand up to Trump and authoritarian rule, as he is pressuring her to approve pipeline plans that the NY Legislature has already rejected. Send comment via Action Network (includes script suggestions for email and phone call).
Stop Trump’s Pipelines in New York: Trump and Gov. Hochul are pushing to revive three fracked-gas projects—the NESE, Constitution, and Algonquin/Project Maple pipelines. On July 2, Hochul quietly fast-tracked the NESE review. If approved, these pipelines will raise our bills, pollute our air and water, and lock New York into decades of fossil fuel dependence—all for the profit of Trump’s Big Oil allies. CALL
Democrats must stay united!
Our reps MUST hear from us. No deal until Republicans agree to extend ACA tax credits and protect SNAP benefits that keep millions of families afloat. Schumer’s clean funding bill with a one-year ACA extension is fair; GOP obstruction puts families at risk as open enrollment begins.

Protect Food Assistance During the Shutdown
More than 2.9 million New Yorkers rely on SNAP to put food on the table. For the first time in U.S. history, a federal administration has stopped food assistance during a shutdown, just weeks before Thanksgiving. Despite $5 billion in USDA contingency funds, the Trump administration has refused to use them, forcing states to scramble. Governor Hochul has declared a state of emergency and committed $106 million in state aid to help food banks and pantries fill the gap. Still, federal action is urgently needed (click on the underlined link below for scripts and contact info).
-
Call Governor Kathy Hochul: Urge her to keep pressing Trump to release USDA contingency funds and restore SNAP benefits for the 2.9 million New Yorkers who depend on them.
-
Call Your Members of Congress: Demand they push to restore SNAP and WIC funding and end the shutdown.

Call Your Senators About the Government Shutdown
Democratic senators have drawn a firm line—and they need to know we’ve got their backs. If you have a Democratic senator, call to thank and encourage them to hold strong. And be sure to call Senator Schumer, our Minority Leader, to remind him that the country is counting on Democrats to stand united and not cave in negotiations. Find your Senator's contact here.
Use Indivisible’s resource page for call scripts and guidance, including:
-
If you have a Republican senator
-
If you live in NV, ME, or PA (Cortez Masto, King, and Fetterman voted with Republicans)
-
If you have a Democratic senator—those most at risk for caving include Gary Peters (MI), Jon Ossoff (GA), Jeanne Shaheen (NH), Maggie Hassan (NH), and Dick Durbin (IL)
