Welcome to the Resistance!

Thank you to everyone who joined us for our annual gala! A powerful evening of community, inspiration, and solidarity. We were honored to celebrate our extraordinary honorees — The Ark Immigration Clinic at CBST (Rabbi Marisa Elana James), the NYCLU (Donna Lieberman), Food & Water Action, and the Hon. Jen Hoppe — for their tireless work advancing justice and progress.

We were also proud to recognize a special memorial honoree, our beloved longtime member and former VID President Katharine Wolpe, a fierce defender of democracy whose decades of leadership, compassion, and activism continue to inspire us all.

We were deeply grateful to be joined by everyone including so many distinguished guests, allies and friends, including Lt. Gov. Antonio Delgado, NYS Comptroller Tom DiNapoli, Manhattan Borough President Mark Levine, District Attorney Alvin Bragg, State Senators Brad Hoylman-Sigal and Brian Kavanagh, Assemblymembers Deborah Glick, Alex Bores, Harvey Epstein, and Grace Lee, Councilmembers Erik Bottcher and Chris Marte, District Leaders Mar Fitzgerald and Arthur Schwartz, State Committeemembers Rachel Lavine and Ben Yee, and many more friends, supporters and VID-endorsed judicial candidates — including NYS Supreme Court Justices Suzanne Adams, Jim Clynes, Deborah Kaplan, and Judy Kim, and NYC Civil Court Judge Eric Wursthorn.

A huge thank-you to the VID Gala Committee, led by co-chairs Mindy Rosier and Judith Jacobson, and members Melissa Carty, Nadine Hoffmann, Tony Hoffmann, Jonathan Geballe, Lois Rakoff, and David Siffert — and to our incredible VID members, the true heart of our club. Together, we’ll keep building, organizing, and resisting — because this is what democracy looks like.
