On Sunday, March 24, elected officials and concerned citizens rallied at Beth Israel Hospital to call on Governor Hochul and the Department of Health to reject Mount Sinai's cynical plans to close the hospital.

The event was hosted by local State legislators Senator Kristen Gonzalez and Assemblymember Harvey Epstein. Also in attendance and participating were local Congressmember Jerry Nadler and Councilmember Carlina Rivera, in addition, neighboring Senators Brad Hoylman-Sigal and Brian Kavanagh, Assemblymembers Deborah Glick and Tony Simone, and Councilmembers Chris Marte and Erik Bottcher also participated. Other speakers included Mark Hannay of Metro NY Health Care for All.

The event drew a very large crowd and substantial press, with members of VID, CoDA, and other nearby clubs using the opportunity to collect petition signatures afterward.
