Members, friends, and honored guests enjoyed fine food and warm camaraderie at the 66th annual gala of the Village Independent Democrats.
VID was proud to take the occasion to honor NYC Councilmember, Erik Bottcher, activist group Rise and Resist and Haitian immigrant advocate Jean Montrevil. And a well deserved special tribute was made in honor of longtime VID board member, Zella Jones, who passed away recently.
Our gala was graced by the presence of many of our elected officials, including:
NYS Comptroller Tom DiNapoli; NYS Assembly Member Deborah Glick; NYS Senators Brad Hoylman and Brian Kavanagh; Manhattan Borough President Mark Levine; and City Council Member Chris Marte. Also in attendance, NYS Assembly Member Tony Simone and NYS Assembly Member Harvey Epstein
We extend our special thanks to the restaurant, Rafele, for doing such a wonderful job hosting us.
The financial success of the gala will enable VID to keep playing a critical role in helping Democrats take the US House of Representatives. We’re looking forward to stepping up the fight for progressive values in New York and in our nation.
