Hello VID
Once again our community is facing a medical emergency.
Mount Sinai Health System is trying to close down Beth Israel Hospital. Beth Israel is one of the very few hospitals remaining in Lower Manhattan. It is critical that we prevent this from happening. As much as the closing of Beth Israel affects all of us it will have an inordinate impact on those amongst us who are less well off.
Mount Sinai will hold a community meeting on Tuesday, November 28th at 6:00 PM at Baruch College (55 Lexington Ave., at 25th St.).
It is critical that our community show up and vent our displeasure at the closing. If the hall is empty Mount Sinai will get the message that the community doesn't care. The press and TV cameras are expected.
Attached is an explanation of what is happening and sample questions you may want to ask. Please show up. It's important that VID lets Mount Sinai know that we can't lose another hospital.
Regards,
Jonathan Geballe,
President, VID
