Lauren Esposito’s induction on December 13th, 2023 to the NYS Civil Court was a uniquely inspiring experience. A full complement of New York elected officials were effusive in their praise of the experience, empathy, and expertise Lauren brings to the bench.

A special guest, Stephanie Pacheco New York State, and 2023 New York City Youth Poet Laureate, moved the hearts of the Lauren’s guests with her powerful words about growing up in New York City. 

Joel Ramsey, owner of CustumFit, and graduate of A Second U Foundation as well as Lauren’s fitness and mobility coach, has helped motivate Lauren in her life and spoke touchingly about his achieving success against all odds.

Additional speakers in attendance were: NYS Senator Brad Hoylman-Sigal, NYS Assemblymember Deborah Glick, Manhattan Borough President, Mark Levine, County Leader, NY County Democratic Party, Keith Wright and NYC Councilmember, Erik Bottcher.  The Honorable L. Austin D'Souza, Judge of the Civil Court of New York, served as the excellent Mater of Ceremonies and the oath of office was administered by the Honorable Lillian Wan, Associate Justice of the Supreme Court, Appellate Division, Second Department.

Also participating in the ceremony were members of Lauren's family. 

A beloved former member of VID, Lauren brings compassion, intelligence, and superb legal judgment to the Civil Court.  She’s made us proud.  And we know that the best is yet to come!
