David Siffert -NYS Assembly 66th AD:
Albany needs people who understand good policy — and have the courage to fight for it. David Siffert has been doing exactly that for years.
David is a civil rights lawyer, law professor, community leader, and lifelong Manhattanite. Behind the scenes, David has helped draft and advance legislation alongside elected officials across New York — writing bills, building coalitions, and working the halls of Albany to move good ideas into law. They know how the process works, how deals get made, and how to stand firm when critical protections are at risk.
David has taken on Big Tech to advance safeguards against dangerous AI, and has worked on legislation addressing civil rights, surveillance, police reform, elections, animal welfare, housing, and government transparency. They’ve seen firsthand how strong bills can be weakened by carve-outs or stalled for lack of political will — and they’re running to ensure that doesn’t happen.
David would also be the first non-binary person elected to office in New York — bringing both lived experience and legislative expertise to the fight for a more just and accountable state government.
