Early voting has begun for State Senate District 47. Manhattan Democrats have unanimously selected Council Member Erik Bottcher (also endorsed by VID) as the Democratic nominee for the State Senate District 47 special election, filling the seat vacated by Brad Hoylman-Sigal. More than 130 County Committee members voted in support. If Brad Hoylman-Sigal was your former NY State Senator, you can vote in this election.

• Election Day: Tuesday, February 3, 2026
  Polls open 6:00 AM–9:00 PM

• Early Voting: January 24 – February 1. Note: Due to the inclement weather, early voting on January 26 has been postponed and will result in extended hours.

The 47th Senate District includes neighborhoods such as Greenwich Village, Chelsea, Hell’s Kitchen and the Upper West Side, along with part of Central Park.
