A Special Thank You from VID

Guitar in hand, our outgoing president, Jonathan Geballe arrived in Greenwich Village from Seattle in 1976, and has been one of our community's leading citizens ever since.

An attorney with a general practice, Jonathan has a long and distinguished record of community service and political activism. He is a former chair of the Landmarks Committee of Community Board 2, has been active in the Greenwich Village Society for Historic Preservation (now Village Preservation), and helped organize its recent efforts to make VID's archives available to the public on line.

Jonathan has served several terms as president of VID, ran our Tenants Clinic for many years, and has been a leader in VID campaigns to protect and preserve our neighborhood. He has helped organize our club's canvassing efforts for out-of-state candidates, and has served as an election protection attorney in battleground states and in upstate New York.

It has been VID's pleasure and privilege to have had Jonathan as our president these past two years. We look forward to your continued leadership in our club and our community for many years to come.
