VID is excited to co-host a series of candidate forums and separate endorsement meetings in preparation for the 2025 New York City elections. Please mark your calendars for the following dates. 

Please check the calendar for RSVP/ Zoom links and additional information. Candidates are strongly encouraged to appear in person. 

• Forum #1: January 7 – Manhattan Borough President, Manhattan District Attorney, NYC Council 3 Co-hosted by Village Independent Democrats and Downtown Independent Democrats. Please check here for candidate statements.
• The District Leader forum & endorsement meeting for the 66th AD, Part A will take place before the VID regularly scheduled monthly meeting  on Jan. 9 .
• Forum #1A: January 29th - NYC Council District 1 & 2 Forum & Endorsement meeting 
• Forum #2: February 6th  – NYC Comptroller, Public Advocate. Co-hosted by a coalition of downtown Democratic Clubs: Coalition for a District Alternative (CODA), Downtown Independent Democrats, Grand Street Dems,Three Bridges Democratic Club, United Democratic Organization (UDO), Village Independent Democrats, Village Reform Democratic Club.
• Forum #3: February 11 – Mayor. Co-hosted by a coalition of downtown Democratic Clubs: Coalition for a District Alternative (CODA),  Chelsea Reform Democratic Club, Downtown Independent Democrats, Grand Street Dems, Three Bridges Democratic Club, United Democratic Organization (UDO), Village Independent Democrats, Village Reform Democratic Club.

• VID's endorsement meeting for Forum #1 candidates and the District Leader Forum: will take place at our regularly scheduled monthly meeting on January 9. For District Leader candidate responses click here. For candidate responses for Manhattan Borough Pres., Manhattan DA and City Council District 3, click here.
• VID's endorsement meeting for Forum #1A candidates will take place after the candidate forum meeting on January 29th.
• VID's endorsement meeting for Forum #2 and #3 candidates: will take place at our regularly scheduled monthly meeting  February 13 

VID Voting eligibility: You must be a member of the club for 90 days and dues up to date. Although individuals can join multiple clubs, members are only permitted to vote in one, local Democratic club.
