Each year VID holds elections for the Executive Committee for the following year.
If you’re curious about getting more involved with VID, becoming a Member-at-Large is a great place to start!
It’s a minimal time commitment—just one monthly Zoom meeting—
and a terrific way to learn more about the club, contribute your voice, and help shape our work.
Run for VID’s Executive Committee
Club Elections: VID’s Executive Committee comprises officer positions and members-at-large. Elections will take place in two separate membership meetings.

- President or Co-Presidents
- Vice Presidents (3 positions available)

Thursday, January 8, 2026: elections will be held for the following positions:
- Treasurer
- Recording Secretary
- Corresponding Secretary (2)
- Executive Committee Members-at-Large (15)

Run for Something: Any VID member in good standing is eligible to run for a position on VID’s Executive Committee. Nominations are now open:
- You may nominate yourself using this form, or during one of the upcoming meetings, someone can nominate you from the floor, or you may nominate yourself. If you would like to run but cannot attend either meeting, someone may nominate you and speak on your behalf; however, attending in person is strongly encouraged.

The term is one year for all elected positions. The positions of Campaign Committee Chair and Membership Chair are appointed by the President annually.
*You must be a member for 3+ months and dues paid up to date to run for a position, or vote in the elections.

The first of VID’s candidate forums for the upcoming midterm and statewide elections will take place at the General Membership Meeting:

In the coming months, VID will host additional candidate forums and endorsement meetings for US Congress (NY10 & NY12), Governor, State Senate & Assembly, NYC Civil Court, VID Judicial Delegates, and State Committee Members.
